Buying note 02 / integration depth
“Connects to Shopify”
is not a workflow.
Use this checklist to ask better questions. A product listing or connection badge is not evidence that a particular action is supported, enabled or safe in your configuration.
Check one real task at a time
| Layer | Ask for a specific demonstration |
|---|---|
| Knowledge | Can it answer from the correct current policy or product information and cite its basis? |
| Read access | Can it retrieve an order with the correct customer verification and without exposing another customer's information? |
| Suggested action | Can a human review the proposed change and see the reason before anything is applied? |
| Write access | Which exact action is allowed, under what limits, and how are repeated requests or failures handled? |
| Handoff | Can it stop, explain the limit and transfer context when an exception occurs? |
Keep the first trial read-only
Use a sandbox or fictional store, synthetic questions and explicit policies. Do not enable real cancellations, refunds, address edits or outbound customer messages merely to evaluate language quality. Ask for audit history and a safe rollback or escalation procedure before expanding permissions.
Record configuration, not just the product name
Store the plan, integration version, permissions, channel, language and test date alongside any observation. Do not turn a success in one setup into a claim about every customer or every plan.
